I don't know what the mins are now. When they were hiring last the average was 3000 turbine, a 4 year degree and maybe 28 years old. Also a strong preference for a resume walked in by one of our pilots. Having said that I don't have a 4 year degree and one guy I got hired didn't either. The oldest person I saw hired was 50.

Couple of ???'s for you ABX types-

How senior is the MIA base and what is based out of there, all 3 a/c types or just 767?

Do most commuters jumpseat on an ABX jet to get into ILN (since I don't think any airline flies into there)?

Lastly, with the exception of this KIX quandry, do you guys like your job/company?

Relatively Senior, do not come hear thinking you will ever hold it. 767 Only.

Correct, Abx Jet or Astar.

Yes/No

YMMV

The MIA domicile currently has four 767s, three of which are based in MIA and one in LAX. The LAX trips all have commercial airline tickets to/from the pilot's home.

On the F/O side the MIA domicile is not particularly senior but it's a small domicile. It's anybody's guess how long it would take one of the upcoming new hires to hold hold it.

Either ABX or Astar. I don't know of any commuter who jumpseats on any other carrier to get to ILN. The closest airports with passenger airline service are DAY, CVG and CMH.

I wouldn't call KIX a quandry. There are a lot of guy who like the KIX flying. We're just going through a period with contract negotiations which makes it unclear how the KIX flying will ultimately be staffed.

I think that most people like their pay and schedules. Not sure how many would say they like the company.

Bitter and LJ, thanks for the info...Unfortunately, the only people I know that flew for ABX are gone now so no internal recs for me :-(...I'm plenty used to liking my pay and schedule and not liking my company so I should fit right in! Sarcasm intedended there...
