Article for USAir Pilots
#21
This has come up several times so I will address it:
I do not care what your name is.
But, if you and people like Armis and Bohica want to begin to establish some credibility, put your name and credentials out there for everyone else to see. Put yourself on the line for what you believe in.

By the way Bob, I'm still waiting and reading this thread to hear who this MEC member is who "agrees" with you. It you don't want to show the name, post the initials. If you don't, then I think you're probably not telling the truth. Credibility????

I have to admit that it was like a breath of fresh air to see a signature on this. It does make a post more believable and I wish that others would do it. So, I am impressed. You lost me with some of your rampant speculation about other matters, but I do give you credit for the signature.

Yeah, real good job of answering the questions Bob, really came through there.
I'm sure Fred feels a lot better about himself now that you give him credit.
Now answer the questions.

Bob, Let me make it simple for you:
1. Where is the link to the USAir article elsewhere on this site (as you supposedly wrote and posted it FOR USAir)?
2. What are the name or initials of the MEC member you supposedly ate lunch with?
Step up and answer the questions or the rest of us might begin to think you might not be telling the truth. Show us all YOUR credibility!

Seeing that the moderators closed the thread but allowed your newest diatribe “Stewing in Their Own Juices” to remain posted, I’ll add my comments and questions here. You state in your final paragraph:
“Solution: I don't think there is one at this point. Defeat is in the air at FedEx. But, if the pilots wish to have any chance at restoring leverage, these two things must happen: 1. They must immediately petition and force the union to renounce Agency Shop; and, 2. They must then abandon the ALPA model. It is failed, it cannot be fixed from within, and it must be replaced with something truly new (not ALPA-lite...FPA). It would be most refreshing if DW and others would stand up and announce that "The system we have is a failure and we must build something new." I would respect this. If the pilots don't do these things, they should plan on continuing to stew in their own juices. It is as simple as that.”
Well I now ask:
1. What does renouncing agency shop have to do with restoring leverage? The only thing I see it doing is to allow non-members like you to have an excuse to not pay dues.
2. If the ALPA model is failed (your statement), what is YOUR replacement model? You make lots of allegations and statements against ALPA but no reasonable solutions I’ve seen anywhere.
Finally, while I won’t “insult” another member (heaven forbid we do that on this forum), I WILL once again, question your credibility. Two months ago you made statements in THIS thread, but when asked direct questions about those statements, you fail to answer and thus I question the statements validity and your credibility. So once again I ask you:

"Finally, while I won’t “insult” another member (heaven forbid we do that on this forum)"
Yeah, heaven forbid. Moderating a website is full of grey areas. It's not perfect and sometimes things get going and out of hand. You can't cut it all out, or coming here wouldn't be much fun. At the same time, we are trying to stand out as the most professional of the forums.
Feel free to take it somewhere else if you find this site overly insulting or not up to your standard of professionalism.
I can promise you. What happened yesterday is not going to happen again at this thread. Tread lightly.

While I didn't get to read and don't know what the ten posts that were removed said (and I don't really care), I did go back and reread the TOS.
(Not the entire TOS):
"By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
The owners of Airline Pilot Central Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

Additional information you should consider when posting here:
Site Administrators and Moderators have the final say in editing or removing posts from this forum.
Abiding by the following guidelines will make everyone's experience of the forums more enjoyable. We're all here primarily to discuss the piloting profession; we all share in the good and the bad that this industry has to offer. Please use the "good neighbor" policy when posting to this site. If you wouldn't say it to your neighbor face to face, than don't say it here (and we are talking about a hypothetical neighbor that you like and respect, not necessarily your current neighbor)."
The "insult" comment in my post was an attempt at sarcasm, as we take each other to task on almost any post anyone makes here. I also don't question the moderators right to edit or remove posts from this private forum (which I agreed to when joining this site). However, if my "neighbor" tries to BS me, or side-step supporting his argument, I would tell him face to face it's BS and that I question his credibility and truthfulness. I hope the "Tread Lightly" comment is not a ban on our ability to still call a "Spade a Spade".

"I hope the "Tread Lightly" comment is not a ban on our ability to still call a "Spade a Spade"."
Well, it all depends on how that comes about. The last thread was unacceptable. Tread lightly means tread lightly...
The last thread got out of hand with the insults and lack of professionalism.
