Default Nov Class@Connie

Does anyone know the start date for the NOV class at Kalitta? Any FEs going to be in the mix?

14 FO's only.

There are two company FE's upgrading to FO which are in the class.

I used my soon to expire SWA rapid rewards pass. I'm in the pool, but(and there is always a big but..)they don't need my body until they get the FO numbers up. I understand they have plenty of plumbers at the moment.

When they invite you to an interview they send you a package with some information. They look at your CRM skills, judgment basic airmanship and knowledge etc. They include some approach plates for JFK 22L.
Basically normal crew interactions. Drug test is included.
No sim ride for the FEs though, so I can't say what they like to see pilot-wise.

FWIW: I'm the guy with 7000 TT and didn't get the job. Well, I don't blame them at all! I just had a really bad, inexplicable, sim experience - it was entirely my own doing. Funny, my next sim with another carrier about 3 weeks later had excellent and have gotten the thumb's up there. So it was just one of those days, unfortunately, even thought the sim profile was very straightforward.

I must say I thought the whole Kalitta process was really good. Very simple, very pleasant, very much no silliness or intimidation. If you're qualified, if you can fly, if they like you, and you pass the drug screen, I assume you're in. I take it you should let them know you know what you're getting involved with, considering the length of the trips. Just like the cliche says: If you show up: The job is yours to lose. I didn't mind all that much paying my own ticket either - maybe it shows them you're interested or something, I'm not sure.

That stinks, sorry to hear it. Just goes to show, ANYONE of us can have a bad in the sim. Regardless of it's a check ride or an interview. Best of luck at the other gig.
