Default Here's the new UPS bid

Realignment/Displacement Bid Opens 10/8
On Oct. 8, the first of three realignment/displacement bids will be opened to begin the process of moving crewmembers off the B-747 classic fleet and to expand the B-747-400 and MD-11 fleets.
The bid reflects the upcoming network changes associated with these draw downs/expansions. Subsequent bids will be open in January and May 2008.

See the table below for specific numbers of crewmembers to added and removed from the individual fleets.

As a result of this bid, there will be no additional new hires required. 16 current DC-8 second officers will eligible for upgrade to remaining positions systemwide.

16 current DC-8 second officers, and anyone junior to them, are in danger of being forced to ANC.

Is it the Z as well? I read it as just the domestic side. My guess is that the domestic side is going to losing some flying, or shall I say even more fllying.

Looks like I may be a 400 CPT in the not so distant future. I can't believe the Classic Capts will want to go to ANC. I see them taking slots on the Bus in the eventual displacement bid. Oh well, its better than staying at Polar.

Would someone with knowledge of the contract spell this out in short sentances with small words?
1. Do the displaced pilots get their preference of domicile / seat (in seniority of course) or is only what's offered (with plus signs in the above)?
2. If you get displaced on probation is it a paid move? I probably know, but I have to ask anyway.
Thanks in advance!

No and no.. They do TRY to look at your preferences, but as a probie guy they may reassign you to whatever during your first year, and you are NOT eligible for displacement rights (ie move package). Welcome to Brown, sorry dude.

Any guesses on what Jan and May bids will be like? More of the same type of movement? In other words less 757 more md?
