I do know CF, yes he is a "good guy" We were new hires together. I believe he would be a fine representative of our group. I do agree with others on this thread, why withdraw just because another "good guy" entered the race? I believe if you both make your "reasons" why you want the job known, the group can decide our rep. .02 worth

All valid points. I just don't want 2 good guys knocking each out if one can work somewhere else and help--i.e. a committee or something. CF and I are playing phone tag, but we'll chat. I'll let you know what comes of the conversation. Thrilled to hear the good pireps in any case...

LAG here are a few Simple facts to know, most are pretty common sense:
If you use a cell phone with a sim card...........it can be tracked. Does Fedex Scheduling have the software and capability to do this? I don't know but I wouldn't bet my job on it!
If you use a public or Airport lounge phone, the company does pocess the capability to track where that specific call was made (where/when)
POST 911, you are being watched or recorded on video camera in just about every public place. Not meaning FedEx pilots specifically, just anyone. Does FedEx have the ability to get a look at a tape? Again, I don't know but I wouldn't stake my job on it.
Many folks have be disciplined for a myriad of things. Missing trips, being late for check in, Checking in out of position, a pattern of Calling in Sick before or after every vacation, and then later admitting it.
We have had Pilots get disciplined for many things, but most if not all kept their jobs, With no small part due to the efforts of FPA/ALPA grievance committee and although the crews are put on a super secret double probation, they keep their jobs.
The easist way to get fired at FedEx (or other properties) is to Steal, Lie or knowingly defraud the Company and I will say LIE again.
When in an disciplinary hearing, if the Artibrator sees or if it is proved that you lied, the hearing ends right then and there. Guys have done many
If you get caught stealing , you are toast.
If you get caught willingly defrauding the Company on a travel claim, you are probably toast.
If you preform your final deviation check in and check the box {X} YES that "I am with in 100 nm of my 1st duty station or distance approved by ACP" and subsequently miss the trip (and there is a revenue failure because of you) and the company finds out you weren't within said distance when you checked in, You will be probably get the axe.

Redeye,
All very good points, and I am knowingly guilty of none. But to clarify my position; if the company is using something to track my position that is (questionably) violating my privacy I would hope my union would tell me. As an example, if the cops in some yankee state wanted to do it would they need a warant? Are they doing things less obvious and more devious than caller ID?
Are only the cool guys given a craniums up?

Is taking water bottles off the airplane considered stealing?
Is surfing the net(non-porn, of course) considered, not using it for company business?
And, who decides if its porn?
Is not checking the commuting box, when staging/destaging, on an expense report considered lying?
Is passing gouge for checkrides considered stealing?
Is taking batteries from the airplane for your "required" flashlight considered stealing?
What about taking a trash bag to carry catering off the airplane?
Has anyone been disciplined for those? I don't consider those infractions. But, technically? Someone might.
We are all well aware that doing your final check-in from more than 100 miles out, is lying. And, you'd definitely be disciplined if they found out due to a failure...
But, what is the harm in advertising(in a sanatized way) exactly what guys are getting hammered for? I think both the company and the crewforce would benefit from knowing.
It would be the same theory as reading all those FSRs.
