Question Bid X

Anyone know how to get the scheduling Bid X program that is compatible with Mac OSX Tiger?

Any thoughts on how it compares to Fastbid which I already have, but need a Mac compatible program now.

Thanks,

You can down load it at BidX.org
you can get a 30 day trail to see what you think.
Best one I have used on my Mac.

Thanks,
It also works with Win XP, and it's very nice. I've used both BidX and FastBid, and both have their strong points, but I've switched to BidX for everything except vacation bidding.

Actually, BidX has some advantages over FastBid in vacation bidding, though it doesn't yet expand vacation to touch other trips.

One thing that is awesome about BidX is that it will download open time trips and show them superimposed on your awarded line so you can see how they fit. When you decide you want to trade, you just drag the open time trip into the add window, and drag the trip you want to drop into the drop window and hit submit. It logs onto VIPS and submits the trade or drop for you.
Also, when you 'refresh' the open time trips, the ones you've already looked at are in standard font, while new ones are in bold. You can also input disputed pairings so that when you see them in open time, they show up in red.
I told the author it should have been named ScheduleX instead of BidX...

A very cool product, with new updates coming out all the time.

I just used it to bid for the first time this month...I'll let you know after the bids close how it did!
Seriously, I used FastBid in the past and they both are nice tools that take a little getting used to using. But now that we have to wean ourselves from the paper bid packs, it should be easier to adapt.

Personally, I prefer BidX but like someone else said, Fast Bid has it's strong points as well.

I now use BidX for everything. I'm learning a few things here and there. The updates seem to happen on a more timely basis than with Fast Bid.

Can Bid-X be programmed to put in a R-day drop request automatically when the view add window opens?

Thanks in advance,

I'm not a reserve guy, but I 'tried' it on a line that I don't hold, and it appears that it will. You have to tell it what time to do it, and it appears that it would work.

I am having trouble when I import to I-CAL, everything works great then when I close out of I-Cal and come back into it my data is gone. I tried saving the I-Cal file, and it still erases. It also erases from I-Cal when I go from one month to the other on BidX.

Anyone else having issues, overall I love the program. Hopefully the I-cal stuff continues to grow so all the info imports for the trip data.
