UPS Ref sys bid awards...
I am not sure I understand this... Maybe I don't know how to read the ref. results. It just seems like a random sampling of bids. Would it not make more sense to show a snapshot of the most jr capt/fo for every fleet and base so that you knew were you stood?
I guess will find out Monday anyways...

You're not alone. I looked at those, and to me, that is absolutely worthless. Many don't bid until the last minute, and people change their prefs all the time. It was interesting to see, though, where the Jr ANC 744 CA was. It won't stay that way, I'm sure, but we'll see what really happens when the displacement bid closes. That I believe will be interesting to see, and quite a few of our new bretheren will be Anc-bound. Sorry guys!

actual results
I believe those would be the actual realignment awards had bidding closed on Friday. Those awards reflected the filling of the posted vacancies and the vacancies filled by those who moved to fill the bid vacancies. It shows who moved where at that time due to realignment. It was interesting to see that most senior FO excess positions (747 and DC-8) were moving to the MD and Z. Only one to the 744 right seat. Since all the other vacancies looked filled I think it showed that the 41 most junior folks, not already in Anchorage, should prepare for a move.

I'm not sure that I understood that totally either. Here are the available moves
Number of
Positions A/C Seat Domicile
+14 MD-11 F/O SDF
+18 74Y CPT ANC
+42 74Y F/O ANC
-11 757 F/O SDF
-15 747 CPT SDF
-17 747 F/O SDF
-30 747 S/O SDF
-3 DC-8 CPT SDF
-12 DC-8 F/O SDF
And yet it seems that I saw a very senior 757 domestic captain, seniority 99 I think, moving over to 757Z captain. How does that happen? Like you said, we'll know tomorrow.
Oh, attn new guys: It usually takes the company two or three shots to get these things right <G>

I guess it makes a little more sense showing the filling of vacancies. I still think it would help more to show the most jr capt and f/o slots in each domicile and equipment. Anybody know who to contact to try to get that published in the future? Planning/IPA?

Good luck everyone, and have a system bid on file if you even think you're junior!
