Why would an officer in the United States Air Force and the System Chief Pilot need and/or want to lie to 4800 pilots?

I don't understand.

Hey....I simply am pointing out that he CLEARLY lied in an email he sent to all FDX pilots. He has NOT flown ONE DP since taking over as SCP. He said he has. He also said that he has his ACPs fly DPs if he or SJ can not fly them. They clearly have NOT done that. You tell me why he would lie to 4800 pilots. Again....read his email and check his schedule...as compared to all Airbus DPs since he took over. You will not find his name on ONE DP since he was named SCP. You WILL find his name on DPs BEFORE he was named SCP. I have NO idea why an officer in the USAF or SCP would lie to 4800 pilots. Ask him yourself.

I think he meant that he flew the disputed pairings in the sim. Of course, they aren't nearly as bad at ground speed times 2.

There weren't ANY DPs since he took over as ACP on the Bus???
Actually, what he said was "Scott Jensen and I make a concerted effort to personally fly the Airbus DPs. If we cannot fly them, I have a management pilot fly them instead."
I haven't looked at any of the Airbus DPs from way back in August (the last time the A300 had any till next month,) but is it possible that some were flown by Flexes, LCAs, or SCAs, who all qualify as "management pilots?"

He also said "When the RCPs finish stabilizing our new organizational structure, you will start to see all of your management pilots out flying these pairings as well as interacting with our crews on a regular basis."

Nothing there about ACPs already flying DPs. Sounds like you are putting words in his mouth.

I didn't put these words in his mouth. So..... flexes, LCA's and SCA's are also involved in this process of validating DPs? Interesting. Where did you hear that? Mea culpa. Again, if you are into the semantics of "exactly what the meaing of is is" I will walk quietly into the night. He said he makes a concerted effort to fly these DPs. How would YOU define "concerted effort"? The record is clear..........SCP and ACPs are "O" for DPs.

I'll second that motion.........

Management pilots include LCAs and SCAs. In Aug, there were several pairings disputed, all because they operated a "three leg days imbedded in the pairing that starts at 1240L in OAK and ends up in EWR at 0428L." (Quote right out of Aug SIG notes.) If you look at pairing 197 on 7 Aug, gee, what do we find. The operating crew DHs from OAK to EWR and the notation at the bottom of the pairing "flt standards crew to operate oak-msp-ord-ewr." Since O did not say he or a management pilot would fly every instance of every DP, it sounds like he is indeed making an effort to investigate the DPs.

Also, if you read the e-mail, which I previously quoted, he did not say his ACPs are currently flying DPs but in the near future would be flying them. Those are the words it sounds like you made up.

I'm sorry. I'm sure the August pairing you cite is specifically what he was referring to as his concerted effort to fly the Airbus DPs. What was I thinking? I'm glad he is looking out for us so aggressively......along with his once-a-month pm out-and-back ACPs. Which cubicle do you sit in?
