United Elite Status Match

It all depends on where you live. This is especially true if you're on the west coast. UALs mileage program is superior as well as the upgrade potential when you reach 1K status. The service is superior to AA and NW in my experience and the fleet is newer with a lot better equip.
BTW, the 319s have 8 F seats and the 320s have 12 F seats.

And they'll only ever do it once. So you might want to plan when you're going to be able to fly on United enough to preserve the match...
I lost mine by 1.5 segments, because I thought they were counting US Air segments. My US Air segments were showing up in my UAL miles, but they don't count.

On the brighter side, when I book Delta on Tripmanager, it always shows 'requested class of service not available' on mainline Delta. If you press on, you get the ticket at the price it quotes, but when you select your seat, it's in First Class.

As far as AA, I never knew we didn't get miles from them. After getting the confirmation e-mail from global travel, I just went to the AA.com website with my reservation and added my frequent flyer number. I just hit elite status last month. Don't know if they will match another carrier's status, though it's standard business practice to match one time. I would just call the 800 number off-peak and just say, "Hey, I haven't used you guys, because I'm Gold Elite on Northwest, I would love to try your product, but Northwest gives me free upgrades, can you match it?" All they can say is, No. I wouldn't mention being a pilot, just in case they confuse you with a non-rev.
Good luck!
