I went to my ACP who was SM. He took my case up to Crew Pay and Crew Skeds. He came back and said..."We lost...We need to change that in the contract!"

That's why I read these threads. Lessons learned the hard way. Sorry that happened, Liftr, but thanks for letting us know what to look out for!

If you go to the PFC copy of the CBA (HTML) you can see all the grievances (click on the scales). There is one in the vacation section that applies to LIFTR case.

Yeah, I think this is bogus and don't believe it was the intent of that rule.

The intent of the rule is if you are truly long term sick (i.e. the entire month) then it should cost you the entire months RLG to cover it.

To me, it appeared you did "work" that month --- but your "work days" were covered by your vacation bank.

Liftr, while I'm no fan of our contract enforcement office (accepted fares debacle), have you gone to them for help? You ought to get them involved and get an answer from management through them.

Yeah, I went to contract admin. At first they sided with me, then backed off of it. I don't recall them quoting this particular grievance. But, I understood the gist of it.

"Shut up and color!"
