Just look at practice bid #1 vs. practice bid #2.
They had 38 DC10 SO slots being backfilled in #1. 63 year olds getting awards. In #2 they realized it was silly to do that and didn't fill the DC10 slots. I don't know if the 63 yr old "error" was fixed yet. Who knows what the company will figure out between now and the final bid.
They may actually determine it's smarter to redo the LOA vs. dealing with FDA newhires and the subsequent crewmember financial problems.
I think the company thought they would have to come back to the table when they gave us the first LOA. Then we surprised them by voting it in.
The Cathay guys are laughing at us.

Your guess is as good as mine, but I predict STV's with periodic bids where one or two at a time will bite until the FDAs fill. The company is in position to control how this plays out. If the flying looks good, and word gets out that living and working conditions are good, maybe even better than domestic, then guys will fill the remaining slots. If the flying is too optimized, and it becomes heinous trying to get to and from work, and the first round of tax equalization numbers show that pilots are getting a raw deal in FDAs, no one will bid in. Same thing happened in Subic. It went junior for a long time, then word got out, largely due to management efforts to build up the reputation that living in Subic had earned over the years, and I slid backward 6 spots in the right seat and wasn't able to hold the left after being out there 9 years.
Only time will tell, and everything is speculation at this point. But I think that international, and China in particular, is the future of FedEx. The company won't mess this up, IMHO. Too much riding on it.

For those of you who have recently been in RGS, are the ACP's and CP still saying that, if unfilled, they will hire into FDA's?
I heard they might delay the hiring timeframe significantly, even if there are open slots... would that mean STV's?
