CBA 25.M.1.k states "A reserve pilot shall not be hub turned through his base more than 4 times, during a single block of R-days, without his consent. This provision shall not apply to advance reserve assignments or pilots on first fly. "

If you get your 1-in-7 in the middle of a 14 or 15-day block of R-days, does that mean you just started a new block of R-days, or are you still in the original block of 14/15 R-days?

If they give you a 1-7 in the middle of your 14 day block, your counter starts over for the 4 hub turn deal. You were released from reserve for the 1 in 7 and you didn't stand reserve that day (still paid, but didn't stand it).

If on RSV and you're lucky enough to get your 1 in 7 (FAA required) in the field; don't forget, you are allowed a 1 in 10 (in accordance with CBA) in MEM when you return! A possible twofer for those who bid the large blocks of R-days.

I am home taking my 1-in-7 right now. Schedules called yesterday at 2:15 PM. Nice! That is the earliest they ever called. We chatted about me needing one more landing for proficiency. I asked if a 1-in-7 was a calendar day. Her answer was "Yes." I don't think she was paying attention. I have definitely had a 1-in-7 in the field that stretched from a Sunday afternoon to early evening the next day.

There are 2 different requirements for a 1 in 7. Contractual and FAR's.

Contractual: You must be relieved from ALL duty for 24 consecutive hours at least once during any 7 consecutive days. That would include training, deadhead, reserve...

FAR's: You must be relieved from FLIGHT DECK DUTY for at least 24 hours during any 7 consecutive days. Only includes flight deck duty.

The 7 consectutive days must begin and end at 0130LBT, which is based on the definition of a day in our contract.

The 24hrs off, may begin and end at any time.
