I'm confused. What bidpack are they in? If it's ANC then when they are pay only, they can work in MEM and bump trips in MEM for currency. If they are flexed to the line, their flying should come from the ANC bidpack. If it's not working like this, something is rotten in Denmark...

ok.. before this get's a life of it's own the way it works is:

you're an ANC pilot, you're a MEM flex. Not that uncommon. Flex PDO bumps can be cross domicile, when released back to the line for flying you fly out of your domicile ANC.

let's not whip this horse any more that we need to.

Don't know his age, but just recently heard from another -10 plumber that he was serious about going...who knows?

For a minute there, I thought you were talking about another JL...

Yea, I was just about to make that clear, but you just did! Had dinner tonight with a former VP of Flt Ops and we both though he was bidding for pay purposes only. Think he's going to HKG to do his ACP duties?? If I was him, I'd be doing the same thing!

I guess some like to see the glass half empty... from what I can see they are following the guidelines they are set to operate by. New manager there and he's very customer oriented, not looking to make it any harder for the studs that is needed...

Don't see anything sinister there.

Nothing up the skirt.

You made a statement - "Zero. There is no such thing. You bid it, you're going."

I was just pointing out that they don't always go. Wasn't saying it was some sinister back room deal or anything - just pointing out the facts - something rarely done on this board.

CBA 11.M.11: "By mutual consent of the flex instructor/PCA and the training manager, a flex instructor/PCA may be assigned a flex training base different than his flying base (e.g., LAX based pilot assigned to the MEM training base, or MEM based pilot assigned to ANC training base, etc). "

This was the question that I was answering. The answer still sticks, which is, if you bid it, you'll go.

Perhaps you and I have different definitions of the word "go". You didn't go to Georgetown University with Slick Willy in 1968, did you ?

There are no "free rides" or personally negotiated good deals. If you bid an FDA, you might do your flex duties in MEM per the CBA, but when you flex to the line, you fly in your domicile.

I think my answer takes care of this, and your statement as well. Looks like you and I just had a misunderstanding. I think we basically agree here.

And thanks to LivinginMem for quoting the CBA on this.
