FDX 3RD Practice Bid
#11
The Poster Child (or Poster Retread) for this group is LW. Here is a guy who spent over 30 years here and who has a son in line for an interview. All qualifications met and working at a regionial until he can get on here. Just marking time until we start hiring again. I am sure he appreciates Dad for looking out for the kids and making sure his seniority number will have to wait that much longer so Pops can come back and suck up that last bit of food in the trough even though he's got plenty to eat already. Talk about tigers eating their young.

When updated, I'm not sure the percentages are accurate for all seats.
Right now, there are 380 SOs in the back of the Boeing.
Current percentages show about 260 SOs in the Boeing after the bid.
That would mean 120 leave the seat.
...however; round #3 only shows about 43 SOs leaving...add in another 9 on the current 757 training letter for CDG, 9 on the Airbus 300 training letter for HKG and MEM, 10 for the MD-11, and 2 for the 727...and that adds up to 73 total
Where are the other 47 or so?
I guess they are sitting on the very bottom of the all the training letters as LCAs and Flexes?
If so, the data on the percentages is misleading for this seat --- and in reality, the Boeing SOs below the 30% level or so, may be sitting about another 15-20% lower than advertised once all the training (and non-training) plays out.
Thoughts....

I'm sorry son, you'll have to suck it up another year, my VEBA account hasn't hit six figures yet!

It is my understanding that LW's son was offered an interview in December of 2006, and he said no, he wanted to wait until after the first of the year. They were giving him plenty of notice to get ready, too, so not sure of the circumstances.
Well, then they stopped interviewing!

Then perhaps he wins the "Here's Your Sign" Award.. Obviously doesn't understand senority; perhaps that is his Pops problem too and why he hasn't retired.. Just doesn't understand what he is doing to us junior folks??? Good thing he moved up the food chain without anybody ahead of him retiring.

I was in Dr.B's office getting my physical and witnessed one of our geezers complaining to the front desk..."I guess I'm going to halve to come back in 6 months for another class 1 & EKG". You should have heard the waiting room! Not a single sound but a bunch of rolling eyes.
