Excellent! I found them as good as my old set of powder skis - Volant Chubbs, which we loved (I scored 7 pairs of Chubbs from a local powder cat operator when they switched to a new ski about 5-6 yrs ago.. We always had powder skis for guests - 4 pairs of 170s and 3 pairs of 180s - all with adjustable bindings)

I also considered Rossi B83s and Dynastar Legend 8000s (I loved my old Dynastar Powertrac 4X4s).

The B83s are a foam core and I found that they tended to fade on me a bit, especially on quicker turns in crud and bumps. The Legends are a solid core and are very heavy and very stiff. I loved them but they required a lot of work to make shorter quicker turns. Also they were the narrowest at the waist. The Fury is 84mm at the waist and has a wood core - not as stiff as the Legend, but never fades on me. I got them in 177mm length, though a 172 would have treated me better in the moguls, but not enough to go that small. All 3 skis were excellent in powder. For me, the Fury was best overall - steeps/chutes, powder, bumps, off piste, crud, cruisers (surprisingly awesome on green/blue cruisers with my 4 yr old - she's a level 5 skier having started at 23 months of age ).

Oh yea, to stay on topic, the purple prunes should consider taking up skiing as a winter hobby and retire!

As long as they don't submarine on you! At 69mm, might be a little narrow and you may have to work to get them to float at all. The RX9 evolved from a line of race skis, hence the narrower waist. My Powertrac 4x4s were about 73mm, and they handled powder just fine, but on deep days I always wished I had more ski under boot! They should treat you well in all conditions, except maybe really deep powder - might be work in deeper than 6-8"!
