"and don't have to babysit the geriatrics"
I saw the list today. There's a couple names on there that I recognize. Super nice guys that taught me a lot when I was a green newb 15 to 18 years ago. I have no resentment at all towards them and would hardly worry about who's babysitting who.

I counted 6 guys off the 8 panel that are NBs and are holding a front seat now. That will really **** me off if they train and fly. All stories are different but I think we know what that situation means.
Oh well

I 1000 percent agree. I have remained quiet over this whole thing. The age 65 thing is probably going to make me move to ANC so I can be with my family over commuting. (Born and raised in SDF too). Not mad about any of this, just taking life in stride as it is played to me.

NB=No Bid. If you see it consistantly over several bids, it usually means the person is out on medical but not retired. Maybe "faking it" to a degree. Now that age 60 passed they are somehow cured and able to hold a medical again. I'm sure not all are guilty of that scenario, but I think it's a pretty shady deal if you were.

It sure would have been nice if those spots went to new hires on the bottom of the list. Too bad Congress sided with the APAAD and the"greediest generation". I am glad I'm not on the -400 and don't have to babysit the geriatrics. Good luck with the commute Grandpa's! - or is it founding fathers???

That's a bunch of horse do do if you ask me. How obvious is that?

I thought about the same thing. The displacement results in a couple of weeks might move some junior people from anc to the panel in sdf.
I know these guys have a lot of experience... but I've seen people come off the panel and into a glass plane, after a few years of not flying... its not pretty. If it's their first glass plane, it is all the more challenging.

Those spots may still go to new hires.
The big question is.....will all these old timers leave the comforts of the Diesel 8 panel, with their < one hour legs, and being based in SDF, to a 2 month plus training event in a glass jet, the commuting nightmare to ANC, and 8 to 12 hour legs across multiple time zones?
I have a feeling that a few may opt to say "no gracias" to the training, and all the other associated pain that would be involved in this "upgrade."
