Opposite to what "O" said in RGS last week. Either "O" is confused, or his bosses that feed him.

Well, it makes sense. Why be fat in the WBs, 700-800+ in a seat, when it's cheaper to keep 'em in the NBs?

Okay, so why excess from the backseat of the Boeing in the first place?

Does anyone else feel that this management group has no idea what they are doing. Most regional airlines do a better job with 10% of the staff or cost. Nothing surprises me anymore. Between the union and management this place is a circus.

Not saying that this would happen, but if so, the company would be paying them 2nd to 3rd year narrow body engineer pay vs 2nd to 3rd widebody F/O pay. Bean counters saving big bucks.

Most regional airlines have a few hundred to a few thousand employees, and their business model is rather limited. FedEx on the other hand has over 200,000 employees, stationed all over the world. As well, our business model encompasses a world-wide perspective, and unless you've been living in a cave and haven't noticed, things change on an almost hourly basis. Perhaps that's why it seems so nutso around here. Also, perhaps you should thank your lucky stars that you were fortunate enough to have been offered a job in this circus.

BoyCaptain,

What you are proposing is a reversal of the original intent of this bid (excess bid). Which, as I understand it, was to put a few extra in the widebody seats over a relatively long period to prevent training cycles down then up again in less than two years. Extra costs for too many in higher paying seats but a plan that would minimize training for the next 2 years.

Not saying you are wrong but my inclination is to say so. It would be odd for this to turn around so fast.

But if the 2 year estimate suddenly became 2.5 or 3 before another MOAB.....

More likely IMHO...your sources are messing with you (us)
