How come no Union action/announcements on lack of training letter? Was supposed to be out Thurs. and looks like being held until 0803 bid closure.

Something like what you posted, without the harshness, from those guys that get that big chunk of your paycheck, maybe??
"Guys and gals...we're working with the company to make sure the training letter, when posted, will be accurate, and something you can use for planning your strategy and personal life. We know this is inconvenient, and apologize for the delay. Our concerns involve xxxxx and yyyyy. We anticipate that the training letter will be posted mmddyy. Thank you for your patience."
Maybe???

Sometimes the membership can think for themselves. We can figure out why operational emergencies were declared and why the MOE is totally changing the training letter.
This training letter, when it does come out, will have more changes after it is posted than you have ever seen. We will be complaining about it for a year or two. Good luck using it to plan anything in your life.
What I would like to see is some progress on accepted fares instead of this stick your head in the sand and it will go away approach. We should be advocating that every crewmember jumpseat in and fly as scheduled to deal with the problem. This is something the union could actually help change vs. acting like a news reporting agency.

Come on Gunter, you can't be happy with their anemic response to this whole mess.

My expectation is for the union to pick and fight the right battles.
I don't want them spending all their time explaining every little action by the company.
The training letter is owned by the company. It is useless until the close of this bid. So commenting on it right now is premature.
If you need it to make you feel informed, read Toccata's version of the union response.
Now everyone is happy.

How many times have you seen a request for some help on the Comm Committee? I don't think anyone responded.
Maybe you guys should jump in there and then we can all read the information that you'll provide to us. Seems logical.

Why does the union have to respond to every action by the company?

Interesting choice; concentrate on past "sins of omission" and ignore present ones.
I think that the train has sailed and the boat has left the station on accepted fares.I personally think the union could do some good by explaining what the problems are and what they are trying to accomplish with the training letter and excess bids. Both the company and the union have said the MEC objected and delayed both.
Perhaps busboy is right, if we only had a couple of more members on the comm commitee we could sneak more comm past the lawyers (who do they work for again?).
