There are four sections of the new LOA on the union website that are not included on the FedEx website. The union LOA ends with paragraph O. Effective Date and Duration. The FedEx LOA ends with this same paragraph K. The union LOA includes four additional paragraphs including:
Line of Credit Facilitation,
Amendments to Section 6.E.2.b.i., of the Basic Agreement,
Timing of Recurrent Training Pay/Adjustments For FDA Assigned Pilots,
Ongoing Implementation Measures
The parties recognize that the details involved in opening and operating foreign pilot bases are varied and fluid. Other measures facilitating the operation of the pilot bases in CDG and HKG and supporting the pilots based there may be implemented if agreed upon in writing by the Vice President, Labor Relations Law and the ALPA FedEx MEC Chairman.
I know a lot of people will have heart burn with that last paragraph.
So which LOA are we really voting on?

It seems pretty cut and dry to me. Do you want a vote in the implementation process or not? Personally, I do. Thus I voted "NO" on the FDA LOA.
The irony is that we're voting on implementation as we vote on this "improved" LOA. Would you want someone else making this vote on your behalf?
Personally, I feel that approving the LOA with this language is a kin to selling your soul. Many will say that this paragraph (N) gives the union some flexibility to increase the speed at which implementations can occur. The union will say they will "hold the line and vote in my interests". I can see their point and appreciate their position but the ONLY way that I can guarantee my voice will be heard is to do the voting myself.
While I appreciate the additions to the LOA, I will not vote for any contract that contains this type language. It's a deal breaker for me.

The company hasn't posted the LOA that we're voting on - they have only posted the current LOA that we are all being governed by at this time. DUH!
That was my stupid mistake and I apologize for getting everyone upset here. I don't think the company is doing anything wrong at all. I just looked at the wrong source for my information gathering. I guess it's easy to do when you go to the PFC website all the time for information.
Sorry for the mistake....
We now return you to your normally scheduled rant

Maybe we whine too much? ... Others have it much worse than us
