I thought our contract stated that "DOH integration" only occurrs if we MERGE with another pilot group. UPS will do their best to hire nobody from now until the end of time. It doesn't matter what your background is, they'd rather not hire and use the managers to make up the available flying. They would much rather be lean playing catch-up than fat paying pilots for little productivity.
We are all pilots. We share the same profession and shouldn't tear each other down because of who we work for. We should always do whatever we can to help each other. If we had the power to force preferential interviews, I personally think most of us would be in favor of that. When picketing UPS, it is management that will remember this (and they are the ones who choose who they hire, not the line pilots). If there is truly something we can do to help, let us know and we can take it to the IPA. Our union takes great ideas to the company all of the time. Whether the company listens is beyond our control.

Thanks Monty, seriously. Other than Miller already asking for interviews for ABX/Astar types, and the company saying "no", I can't think of anything you guys can legally do. And we aren't asking or expecting anyone to do anything that isn't. We appreciate your offer though!

I've seen a youtube video where they compare DHL management to Adolf Hitler and I think that's insulting to the millions who perished in the gas chambers - are you saying there's a similar video where they compare UPS to Adolf???

Not that I know of AW. All the UPS ones I have seen have been along the lines of asking UPS to "do the right thing and walk away" to DHL/UPS=Anti-Trust/Anti-Labor. There are a bunch out there though, so who knows?

Give me a break.
The Hitler references were directed toward the DHL component, Ned. You see, DHL is a German company. Get it? Not directed toward you.

As for carrying signs at the picket event, either you supported the very same actions at the very same venue during your contract struggles or you must be a management type that is willing to fly when others are out on strike - which, come to think of it, you really sound like.

Unfortunately for you, the vast majority of UPS pilots are on board with our message and are supportive of our goals. You are a alone, you are wrong, and Heavy is right; you must be a real pain to fly with. I may be out of a job soon, but I'm right, I believe I can make a difference, and I'll somehow provide a good life for my family. These things I can and will do.

On the other hand, you will always be what you are, and you will never be able to change. Must suck to be you.

I know, that was a poke at sarcasm.

MODERATORS: I can't believe you let Hitler references to the German people continue. You are going to lose a lot of APC folks if this keeps up. The guys generating this garbage have lost my desire to help in any way.

What kind of people that you know of who are in the business of making money will walk away from 10 billion dollars?

Good luck convincing them.

I'm 50% German and a UPS pilot...I'm not offended by any of this.
