Fred Smith is being considered by John McCain...
...as potential VP pick. From PRNewswire via COMTEX July 30, 2008
The article goes on to say the pick is "beyond disturbing." "As a well-known lifelong union buster, Smith has a disgraceful record of stripping workers of their most basic right to organize and fight for a living wage." "...he doesn't intend to recognize any unions at Federal Express." Wow! Talk about being racked over the coals. Giddy-Up!

If Fred wins, I understand the new slogan will be painted on UPS and Fedex aircraft: "All Your Base are Belong to US"

You think he would be looking at someone much younger.

I have to laugh at the sort of naivety that believes any political affiliation has helped Unions in the last thirty years. We could face a far worse obamanation(or is it abomination-I lost my spell checker).

"Another ignorant pilot who dismisses the destruction the Republican party has wrought on the nation's pilots. Compare the Reagan, Bush I and II years to the Clinton years. Contract concessions and union busting accompany the Republicans whereas the Clinton years saw the highest salaries and the elimination of B-scales. "
Oh Yeah. Big Bill really did a lot for the APA when they tried to exercise their legal right to withhold their services didn't he? Pilots are screwed no matter who wins in November. It's will just be a matter of how we will be violated and which orifice will be used. If McCain wins at least he will have a Democratic Congress to deal with if he tries to change labor laws. With Obama he and his buds in Congress will be in our pockets quicker than a french kid on the Metro in Paris. Pick your poison this election if you ask me..

Under Obama, you can at least ensure that you will still have a job worth going to.
