The leather makes a great motorcycle jacket . .put it on EBay if you don't have a motorcycle yourself. You guys who don't like the leather are truly weird. They are great

Uh, you ever fly with someone who wears the same workshirt for three or four days in a row? You know the type, with the yellow seepage underarms, and brown ring-a-round the collar, not to mention the ubiquitous catering stains down the front. Sorry man gotta disagree, also he wears the same shirt to DH just to pack a few ounces lighter.

Default More Parka Info

I found this info on the website...

The Northface Parka is available only from VF Solutions. This uniform vendor is the source for purchase of the approved parka. Northface Parka’s purchased from another vendor will NOT be reimbursed and you will be prohibited from wearing it as a uniform item. All orders must be submitted via VF Solutions.
The basic features of the parka are as follows –
  • Exclusive acclimate zip-in system allows absolute personal climate control through versatility and flexibility.
  • Zip-out primaloft acclimate jacket worn alone as a light thermal layer or zipped in as an insulated shell.
  • Hood storage pocket.
  • Pit zips for ventilation.
  • Detachable, tuckaway hood
  • Side-zip access.
  • Hand-warmer pockets.
  • Inner security pockets.
  • Adjustable cuff closures.
  • Hyvent technology delivers advanced breathable, waterproof fabric.
  • Cinch cords in pockets to adjust waist.
  • 3 piece reflective package that attaches with hook & loop to back and front 2 pockets
Reimbursement/Expense Report
The cost of the parka can be divided over two consecutive calendar years (year of purchase and following year) when using your uniform allowance. Therefore, you can apply the $150.00 allowance in the year of purchase and then another $150.00 after January 1st of the second year. The original receipt must be submitted with the initial expense report and then for the second year, you only need to submit a signed expense report – requesting the 2nd half of your leather jacket reimbursement. Crew Travel Audit will have the names of all pilots who purchase a parka each year so a receipt is not required for the 2nd expense report.
What the Parka Looks Like

So, it looks like you could wear the inner shell as a light jacket. That would be great in the fall/spring when it is too cold for a shirt only and too warm for the coat. Is that the way you guys read that?
