I like my leather jacket too, much easier to pack for a 12 day trip and yes, I do wear it out. I'm sure I look like a dork regardless of what I wear but when I start worrying what other guys think of my wardrobe, I might as well start shaving my legs too! Jeez, get a life will 'ya!

Its like the pilots who carry a 3rd or 4th bag and still wear their hat..what happened to travel light travel right?

My company just says it has to be a black jacket, so I ditched the 20lbs of "I'm a pilot" cowhide and go with black gore-tex and fleece. Packs well and you almost look local.
