Easy enough. The company then turns around and offers recalls, in seniority order, but only for those willing to take the Hong Kong base.

Just got a call for a draft trip to IND...Would be interesting what they would do with a reduced work force. I turned it down of coarse! I cant justify taking up the slack when I may lose position in the furture. However I am sure that someone will help them out, but this is ANC!

We aren't in negotiations so draft trips are certainly not off limits. By taking one you aren't hurting any of your fellow pilots. We are definitely overmanned and it's only going to get worse until the economy turns around. Anyone that thinks otherwise is just being unrealistically optimistic.

Purple guys/gals - care to explain this vote? Why did they think it'd benefit Fedex share holders? Is it good or bad that it failed? Tx.
FedEx Holders Vote Against Separate CEO-Chairman (Sept. 30)
FedEx shareholders Monday struck down a proposal that would have separated the role of chairman and CEO. The roles are both currently held by Fred Smith. Shareholders had pushed the proposal as they argued for more board independence amid issues including the ongoing fight over its independent contractor model. The measure also failed to pass at the package delivery company's 2007 annual meeting.
Another proposal that would have allowed shareholders more control over executive compensation also failed.
