Agree, especially if the payout was in the Philippine pisos.

Add another one to the list...

"We will not be able to approve this swap,
due to Xxxxx Xxxxx's current position of B727 S/O.
We need the 27S/O's for Peak Season."

Just a thought, maybe they don't want to train you if there's going to be a furlough, excess bid after peak?

Well, if they furlough, it would affect the HKG FO manning quite a bit.

Gotta agree. A furlough of the bottom 100 FDX pilots would get 9 of the 27 HKG FOs listed on the last practice bid, of which 8 already hold the award.

Easy enough. The company then turns around and offers recalls, in seniority order, but only for those willing to take the Hong Kong base.

Guys, where are you getting this furlough fever from??? There will be none of that. No negative vibes. If it will help, I'll continue to stay home and relax.

Why? If it's because you don't feel like spending extra time away from home, then good for you.
We aren't in negotiations so draft trips are certainly not off limits. By taking one you aren't hurting any of your fellow pilots. We are definitely overmanned and it's only going to get worse until the economy turns around. Anyone that thinks otherwise is just being unrealistically optimistic.

Purple guys/gals - care to explain this vote? Why did they think it'd benefit Fedex share holders? Is it good or bad that it failed? Tx.

FedEx Holders Vote Against Separate CEO-Chairman (Sept. 30)
FedEx shareholders Monday struck down a proposal that would have separated the role of chairman and CEO. The roles are both currently held by Fred Smith. Shareholders had pushed the proposal as they argued for more board independence amid issues including the ongoing fight over its independent contractor model. The measure also failed to pass at the package delivery company's 2007 annual meeting.
Another proposal that would have allowed shareholders more control over executive compensation also failed.
