The pay at fedex is 206,000 a year. If you fly your line no more no less ,maybe a few days of training on your days off because thats
how it work here. My pay is close to 1000 hrs a year every year as a
widebody capt. with more than 15yrs. Yearly block time is 350-400hrs.
P.S. FEDEX PILOTS lets get a contract NO VACATION BUYBACK,NO DRF,NO
VLT.

Here's an email I received from a friend of a friend...names and email addresses omitted to protect the innocent. This happened in Subic, by the way, for you domestic guys...
"Crew sched couldn't find a capt. for flight 90 to PVG today, the 29th. I was getting line check from <name omitted>, and they called him in the cockpit to see if he could take the flight, otherwise it was going to cancel. He couldn't make that call, cause I was going to be non current at the end of the month,(in my grace month), and nobody around to give me a line check. <name omitted> is in Memphis, so he couldn't take up the slack.
They said disregard the request. Then we remembered <name omitted> was jumpseating out that night. Sure enough, listening on the radio, they called his plane, and asked the crew to have him to call crew sched. I guess they resorted to looking at the jumpseat list in search of a warm body. The MD11 crew said that they were closed up, and ready to push, and that <name omitted> would call them from Narita. They came back, saying that MEM authorized him to delay the flight, in order to see if <name omitted> would take the PVG flight. Otherwise they would lose the flight to PVG. They said standby, and would relay the info to <name omitted>. Came back about a minute later with one word. "Declined"
Crew sched (who was being patched thru the radio) asked him to repeat that. The MD11 crew repeated. "He said he is declining the trip, and is going to Narita. We are ready for the beacon and push".
End of story.
I checked the trip this morning after getting to BKK, and it was still minus a captain.
Another plane on the ground. Of course, it's going to be all our fault. Blame the crew force, I'm sure.
Kudos to <name omitted> for stepping up to the plate, again, and turning them down in front of an MD11 crew, probably from MEM or ANC. Good example of what Subic is doing, and they should be doing as well."
Good on <name omitted>...
The more UNOFFICIAL economic pressure we put on the company, the sooner they may bargain in good faith...
Two years IS too long...

I got two calls on Friday for draft trips on Saturday. The schedulers left the trip numbers on my answering machine. I never bothered to call them back but did check to see who ended up flying them. Both were flown by MEM reserves who had to be paxed to LAX. I'm jusy glad that scheds wasn't able to reach one of our resident sky*****s.

I like the mood I'm starting to see around here. This contract will be a done deal once more people realize that enough is enough.
NO vacation buyback, NO draft, NO volunteer ... NO excuses.
Fly your trips, share your views and support the NC and MEC!
TWO YEARS IS TOO LONG!!

Tell me how NOT selling your vacation back, NOT taking a draft trip, NOT volunteering on days off is damaging business??
Tell us, what incentive does the company have to negotiate this contract?? Do you think because you take a draft or volunteer trip and make the company more money, they're going to say..."oh, good job, here is your raise, and better scope language, better healthcare, and more secure retirement"?? Yeah, that's the ticket.
The only way to send a message to the company is to show them that we're tired of them ****ing around this contract...and one way is to just DO YOUR JOB...NO MORE, NO LESS...for ONLY A FEW MONTHS of your life.
When they can't fill trips with draft and volunteers, then maybe they'll realize we're serious, settle this contract, and continue the business of MAKING MONEY. After it's all negotiated and settled, you can be as much a sky***** as you want.
Your comment sounds like the attitude of someone everyone knows with a 9999 employee number from the last contract run-around...sad.

Excellent! Pitch up... fly your trip... and go home. Nothing more nothing less. You can't be penalized for doing your job by the terms of the contract. Perhaps if the company wants more from the group, then they will step up to the plate and give the pilot group more pay and benefits as well as additional incentives.
