It seems very unethical to lower BLGs, kick folks out the door, and then raise BLGs while folks are gone.I hope this is what the union will fight for. How many times have we heard, "nobody gets a pass...nobody gets left behind." It would be nice if our union members, as disgruntled as we are, would show some solidarity on this issue. It seems quite selfish at best to demand junior folks get the shaft in order to protect high fives etc... A BLG reduction hurts eveyone, but it would be preferred over a complete loss of pay for the bottom 10% or so. Comments...

Keep in mind a 600 pilot furlough takes out 80% of the HKG FO's as well as a couple of the HKG Capts.

Can do something with SIBA isn't the same as willing to do it with SIBA. Of course, lost productivity and DH expenses probably come out of a different pot of $$.

Haven't examined every line, but looking at DH expenses in the vicinity of a month's pay for a WB F/O....add in the lost productivity of the 3-4 days of layovers t/from and you're talking some serious buckage

Deutsche Post to discuss DHL restructuring
Friday November 7, 5:03 pm ET

By Samantha Bomkamp and Harry R. Weber, AP Business Writers
German company Deutsche Post AG to discuss DHL restructuring as it releases 3Q results

NEW YORK (AP) -- As the German parent of struggling shipper DHL prepares to release third-quarter results, analysts and industry observers predict Deutsche Post AG will announce major changes at DHL, though it's unclear whether those changes would impact a deal DHL has been working out with rival UPS.

.........Wolfe said package volume at UPS Inc. and FedEx Corp. could rise by about 3 to 6 percent. The two rivals could also see earnings per share growth of 3 percent next year from the added business, he forecasts. But DHL's potential removal from the U.S. market could have an even more positive effect in the long-term on pricing, as the reduced competition allows FedEx and UPS to potentially raise prices. A FedEx spokesman declined to comment on Friday...........

Not really about giving the source.

This is just flamebait.

300 furloughes....No, wait, I meant to say 1000. If 300 is good, 1000 will save even more $$.

Give me a break. Might as well say the whole operation is going wet lease.
