CheyDogFlies - I guess you must be based in a very sunny domicile where the positive attitude prevails because personally I've been hearing those rumors from both junior and some senior guys for months now.

I see your concern and trust me, I'm as worried as you are, however what do you want the union, the other pilots or even the management to do about this rumor? I mean until ATL makes the final decision not even the Pope himself will know what to tell you.

So my point is, are we really better off when we keep scaring ourselves or should we realize that anything is possible, enjoy what we got for now and try to save some money just in case?

If the second scenario sounds better to you - is there really anything that the union could do right now? Until there is an announcement they will know as much as we do, maybe even less...

You should probably call Bob M. and tell him to stop telling everybody that the deal is still on at the IPA meetings.

It would seem that you have repeated my post, almost verbatim, except that I am happy with what the union has done so far.

Announcement coming this weekend. I don't know if the UPS/DHL deal is still on or not but I just heard from a banker friend of mine that an announcement will come today or sometime this weekend.

DHL has 2 conference calls scheduled for Monday. We will know something shortly I am betting.

Well, my main point was that although in your experience only junior pilots concede that a furlough is a possibility most of the junior AND the senior pilots I’ve flown with agree that a furlough is a possibility. In other words, in my experience it's not as "inconceivable to most everybody right now unless you're in that 300" as you described. That's all.

I sure hope the deal goes through for you so I can lose my job and you can keep yours. What comes around goes around.

Relax Francis, you've got over 10% under you. Over 300 people. Not that it makes the bottom guys feel any better but quit playing woe is me.

FWIW, two nights ago a trip popped up due to a sick call in SDF. There were only 2 RSVA SDF 75 and 1 RSVA Z FOs available. But we're fat right?

I'm glad you told him ... I'm in the bottom 5% and KNOW he's got more furlough fodder than he realizes.

Fat ? I see nothing has changed from my last few days on Z.

In my prior life, management felt they were FAT if reserves went unused at all. The schedulers in the trenches didn't appreciate that philosophy. And UPS couldn't survive on those numbers ... FWIW

You honestly think one has anything to do with the other? I think you should keep that attitude will all UPS and Fedex pilots. Those are the ones that took the business, right? DHL had nothing to do with it
