I wish I had the same sentiment as her but I'm a bit more realistic........

It's time for the pilot group to hold some accountable for their actions. We are just too nice to other pilots. If your not happy flying with a NEAR DEAD, tell them. Tell them they will be taking food off your table. Post their month in AOC so we can see the 110 hours their flying. I am not advocating this in the cockpit, nor during anything associated with flying, however it is time to speak up.

Housing started this and housing will have to end it. The 30 year fixed is now slightly below 5%. As we deleverage and housing becomes affordable again, this thing will turn. Unfortunately turning the Titanic takes a lot of time and room. It's been one year since the Fed aggressively started cutting rates and one month since they went "all in." By June, while I doubt we will see full recovery mode underway, stabilization may very well be occurring. Courtesy of a dramatic difference in the response to this crisis versus that which occurred in 1929, few believe a depression is forthcoming. Barring said depression, recovery would be expected to begin 12 to 24 months following the onset of the recession if we use history as our guide. December 2009 will be the 24 month point from this recession's official beginning.
Additionally, if a majority of people think things will be better when Obama takes the helm, it may well become a self fulfilling prophecy as those who are able begin to loosen their wallets and Americans exit panic mode.

IMHO

That problem can probably be explained by "Hero Matt's" girlfriends?

So ... JetFlyer, CDG ACP and an Instructor meeting are all feeding this rumor. Hello Flight Management ... could we please get some facts and specifics so that the folks affected by huge life change can plan accordingly.

I know FedEx has NEVER furloughed, and, maybe because of that, that it's a bit of an abstract concept. TAKE IT FROM THOSE OF US THAT HAVE BEEN FURLOUGHED ... it's not an abstract concept when it happens to your family.

Finding a good paying job (any job?) in the current economy will not be easy.

I'm trying to fill 5 DOD positions open at Nellis...pay less than NB FO but more than SO and have full benefits. Fighter types required for these. Hope to have a few more jobs to fill in the West (not Nellis) later in the year. PM if interested.
