I can assure he is not being used as a tool by management, things are getting serious around here and anything he says is directly linked to his friend/source, so he really can't say anything. He makes little innuendoes but past that he has to, and better keep his mouth shut. I actually think he doesn't hear much right now because of the posturing going on with the union. He can't be the sharpest tool in the box (he's been flying the airbus for 10+ years for God's sake), but he knows more factual stuff than most of us common guys.

To the boy's credit he did more with his career in aviation by 25 than most of us (I got in my first C152 at 26) got accomplished by 32 or 33. He's is a little prideful of that, but no more than the guys I fly with that recant their military days, over and over and over. Wish I had been smarter/faster myself.

I can assure that management reads APC and knows who a lot of us are, why they'd want to I can't imagine, but they do. I say that in the vein of "If you wouldn't say in AOC to "O" I wouldn't say it on here" At least for now.

Man it's a beautiful day in Paris!

Was out for 5 hours, came back to workout and sleep. New hotel is in a terrible location. 1 hour stroll to town.

Odds are good he's also got his preferences set up to email him when there's activity in a thread he's in. Finger on the pulse of APC.

Noticed today that FDX Freight is cutting 900 jobs. The question I have is, Has anyone heard of any cutbacks in Maintenance? You would think that with the parking of Airbi, along with 727-100's, and the DC10, that mx would be overmanned also. It seems that cuts in mx would happen before furloughs of pilots, just due to the fact that there is no contract to deal with.

I don't want this to seem like I'm finger-pointing, only a possible sign of things to come for the pilots. By the way, I still believe that there will not be any furlough.

All true, but perhaps the fact the the Mechanics are trying to Organize a Union might keep Management from laying off, at least until the drive is over.

They put this on VIPs and last week they had something about Singapore pilot's being offered unpaid leave during slump.

Seems like VIPs is turning into a propaganda machine...

Default Just Poor Planning on AF part

According to Air Force spokesman Capt. Mike Andrews, there is no set goal for how many reservists the Air Force wants to come back. “We have a significant shortage in rated officers in the near term, and hope the recall programs will help fill many of those requirements,” he said.

The recall letters were sent to 531 Individual Ready Reservists, 353 Participating Individual Ready Reservists and 31 chief pilots at various airlines. Volunteers are not being offered a financial incentive to return, Andrews said.

Funny I never got a letter, but then I am active reserve.

Take Care Good luck
