There is nothing preventing them from moving on this excess. They can bid just like anyone else. The company is just not flushing people out of those seats. A 27FM with enough seniority can bid to another seat if he so desires.

Is it possible to "seek" something involuntarily?

Wait. They learned their lesson. 2nd Excess bid will allow for 72 and 75 F/O to be pushed out the bottom.

Well I guess round 2 will be 72 FO's, 75 capt/fo and 72 SO's.

FCIF, says no excess in that seat, so they don't get to play in the fun and games regardless of seniority...

MEM 27F & MEM 27S are NOT being excessed on this bid (09-02). They cannot bid to relieve excess nor bid to be excessed.

Since there's no vacancies (except on the 09-01 vacancy bid - to HKG) they can't move to anywhere their seniority will hold - they can only move to fill a vacancy (to HKG)

Maybe on 09-03 when/if MEM 27F/27S are excessed, THEN they can move - but those guys' only choice right now is to bid HKG vacancy.

* (I think?)

Sounds right to me but I don't think they will excess S/O this time. JL and other friends of DW have already moved up.

Stand by for 500 guys in the back getting 48 hours each.

Default Question?

Are ALL of the following valid bid statuses? ie. if someone is junior to you in ANY of these, could you be awarded ANY? or are some bid statuses disqualified due to previous excess bids moving people out (SFS or DC10 for example?):

ANC 11C
ANC 11F
HKG 30C
HKG 30F
LAX 11C
LAX 11F
MEM 10C
MEM 10F
MEM 10S
MEM 11C
MEM 11F
MEM 27C
MEM 27F
MEM 27S
MEM 30C
MEM 30F
MEM 57C
MEM 57F
SFS 30C
SFS 30F

All except for MEM 10C/F/S and SFS30C/F. I don't think those will get you anywhere.

And you still can't cause an excess in HKG 30C/F, so "only" 20/36 guys will get to go there, unless the company decides to add more.

The Q&A under the FCIF answers that somewhat. It does say that you can bid if your seat is in excess(or get excessed), but not otherwise. So the 10 guys who got 75 awards, can't partake either...
