I think you may be reading that incorrectly. There is no "inverse" seniority required in the seat you are coming FROM, however there is inverse seniority in the seat you are going TO. The most junior ANC FO does not have to train in reverse order amongst all ANC FO's, rather he is grouped with all the guys going to the same seat, say 27SO. All guys system wide involuntarily moved to the 27SO will be trained in reverse system seniority INTO that seat.

Depending on the training letters, the most junior ANC FO may hold onto his seat longer than the #56 from the bottom ANC FO becasue he may have been excessed into the 27FO seat and the training is more accelerated than the SO seat. In that respect reverse seniority is not "honored".

Clear as mud? That is the way I read it. Seniority is honored with respect to the inbound seat.

You're right. That's what I meant. Pooling and training order are by inbound seat.

Isn't that what I said above? excessed to the same seat?

when a pilot is excessed they are trained in ... inverse seniority order. So if a nugget is excessed from ANC to 27FM and an Airbus FO is excessed to the same seat; the Nugget from ANC would have to be trained first since the all the Nuggets (I believe) are junior to the Airbus FOs in MEM

The first excess bid will flush guys down to the narrowbody FO seats, but not down to the 727/SO seat (...because those being excessed are senior to the most junior guy in the 727/FO and 757/FO seat).

We won't know how many guys are flushed down to the 727/SO until we see the size and scope of the subsequent, and more junior, excess bid(s).

(...and remember, the 757 needs to grow!)

How would a nugguet be able to hold a FO seat? Are you saying that I could be excessed to FO seat, then excessed to SO seat? Sorry if the answer is obvious, im new at this.

Yes, he just has to be senior to the most Jr F/O to bid that seat. Most Jr F/O in 72 March bid pack is number 4575. In reality though the 2nd excess bid will close before any training starts so it would only be a shortlived excess to the F/O seat.

With 09-02 260 pilots are going to end up either in HKG CA, HKG FO, or the right seat of the 75 and 72. After that shuffle, the company will hold another excess to get some number of those into the back seat of the 72. They will then be in position to furlough if they need to. They are simply leaving the HKG option there for guys to bite on who may not want to go to the back of the 72 after the music stops.

Two excess bids, see who jumps on HKG, and then the company will get down to business with training and perhaps a furlough. Hopefully the economy will pick up in the fall and they will keep everybody around for peak. So yes, if you are in the bottom 300-450 you will likely end up in the back of the 727 when this is all over, unless you jump to HKG.
