Wow, rubbing in the fact that I'm about to be furloughed, huh?!You're a real class act, Jungle.

Not sure what EFCA is but is it the same provision that supposedly had the FDX stock drop some 8.31% yesterday and almost 9% day before?
You'd think they ( the government) would try to prop up businesses right now, not hurt them in this already weak business environment...

But yes, this is likely the same provision. I was speculating that UPS could use the threat to furlough IPA pilots as leverage to help convince the managers to not want to come over to the IPA.
It's probably just my little conspiracy theory, but in any case, I'm planning on feeding my son without using a UPS paycheck in September. I believe that the furlough will happen.

Having said that, any plans to knock off the "you don't get it" and "you tell me" comments? You only get so many of those before you have to offer up your own opinions.
Having said that, what do you think a union is? Include the rest of your labor philosophy as well. Educate us, obviously a lot of us could benefit.
If you've thrown it out there already, a link is fine, otherwise I'm listening.
Honest question, have at it.

Yeah, that's a real shame AV8OR that FedEx will have to pay higher wages and benefits to some working class stiff. I guess Fred Smith will have to make do without from now on!

We are facing an emergency situation today and since the ‘status quo’ has existed for so many years I'm sure the classification can wait for another six months or a year…
This is clearly the new administration's revenge for Fred supporting McCain. I think that's wrong but most of all it’s the wrong time to be "going after" his company...
I do see your points by the way, I'm just questioning the motives and most of all the timing...
Either way, let’s get back to the subject...

Senor Jungla, I usually like reading what you write, you're clearly a smart dude. You make me think, which is a low Pk shot here.

Thanks, see post #14. In short it is what we have defined it to be, by written legal contract. I really can't speak for others and they can't seem to speak for themselves.
If you want to see what a union isn't, see post #1.

Well, in some respects the original post addresses a major flaw w/ our organization. If the company furloughs any IPA pilot and has non-union pilots flying trips then that is something worth striking over.
I do not think we can legally strike, but at the very least we should go to court/ trial ASAP.
Otherwise, we are letting them have their 2nd airline.

After we staple the 200 flying managers to the bottom of the IPA seniority list then and only then will we furlough. If UPS does not go for it then 100% of the IPA pilots should strike/call in unfit to fly etc.....
Lets see UPS fly the system with 200 pilots.
This is so simple and we will learn who is a real union pilot and who is not. Serving food to these guys after all is said and done will be fun.....

I've also heard that when a UPS manager takes mil leave, his salary is not reduced as is ours for each day of lost duty. Little steps...
