You don't. The MEC votes on the election of new MEC Officers. Do the other candidates have access to ALPA e-mail lists to post campaign e-mails?

I'm confused...So now we want the "new guys" that insisted there must be an early retirement program, to be our MEC leaders?
On the one hand, you're biatching about how the negotiations were botched...And at the same time, wanting the supposed culprits to be our new leaders.
No wonder we don't get a vote. We don't really know what we want...Because we don't have all the facts.

facts? we don't need no stinking facts!!
it's much more fun to play the blame game and belly-ache than to discuss facts and plausible solutions to problems.

So...WHO IS RUNNING? I want to email my rep with my thoughts. The only campaign letters I have seen are from DM and WR....

Consider it a continuation of the organized labor program "hoping for change" we voted for last November.

Hmmmmm.......no one seems to get it. Each individual ALPA (FedEx) member gets NO vote on the upcoming MEC Officer elections. The only way you can have effect on the process is to call/e-mail/visit your block Rep and convey your desires. A good question I have is...... we now have 2 published letters from the incumbant Vice -Chair (running for Chair), and the incumbant Sec-Treas (running for Vice Chair). Why do we not have messages utilizing ALPA FedEx mail lists from the other candidates. I asked this question on another thread and received the following response from an MEC Officer.

xxx, It was just a question. Do all the candidates know they have access? (for $75) In addition, why not address the question publicly?
They do know how to do it, and if they don't the message lines have directed them to contact me for information on the process.

No matter who you support, if you haven't contacted your Union rep and voiced your opinion, you ought to be embarrassed. This is too important to allow somebody else to blindly make this decision without input from the membership. Remember how shocked we were when the POS LOA passed so overwhelmingly? Apathy just won't hack it anymore.
