Siba Vto
How do you bid the first Siba VTO line? IE there are 4 VTO's but you only want the first one of 4. Or the top 50 percent. Don't think you can as it lumps all VTO's in the same pile. So you won't know if the first SIBA VTO will go at number one or at number 20.

There should be an FCIF explaining this, maybe more info than you asked for?

good question...sorry I do not have an answer for that one. I suggest calling your ACP and ask them. Essentially, the ability to "percentage" bid VTO's while in SIBA appears to be a crapshoot.

If you definitely want a VTO, I would bid all of them in numerical order. Which one you get is based on your seniority in seat. You are further restricted by the number of SIBA VTO lines.
For example -
someone one number senior to you in the SIBA award, who is 50 numbers senior to you in seat, could get the #1 VTO and you could get #50.

Eyeballing that 50 hours of Carry Over? I would hope you couldn't, I would only bid SIBA if I knew my relative seniority to the last man. I would hate to see someone come in from left field to steal the good open time trips.

Nope--only current SIBA bid awardees can be assigned a SIBA trip on VTO line. Fought that battle last month; as result, Open Time had lots of SIBA trips unassigned when the feeding frenzy began. Was told it was an internal policy; it's not spelled out in our contract. Once Open Time is released, then any current or prior SIBA-qualified pilot can trade/pick up the trip; however, there's a restriction against trip trading off of a long SIBA trip (>100 hours TAFB?) for purely domestic trips.

It's called CIC, don't protect min days off, and View/Add cherry-picking of the sweet SIBA (and non-SIBA) trips. Seniority makes it legal (not necessarily right), but that is cold comfort to the junior folks who aren't flying two Europe trips a month, every month, or the 90+CH folks in the 75.
