To add to that, for a fortune 500 company with a cafeteria thats servers several hundred people a night it is a dump. It is half the size it should be and the food is aweful and bland. The prices are a rip-off for the junk that is served. I would bet corporate Atlanta has better food.

Heavyjet,
You must be USAF <BFG>. Tsquared030 is a squid like me, reason he will think the food is just fine <lol>
Tom,
NMM bird flyer, used to stage outta B'ville for CQ once in awhile. Sad to see the truck school on the runway after the shutdown.

Salty,
Right you are. I just finished a delightful slider with fries at Chez Ernst. I didn't realize how much I missed that institutional taste.
Now if I could just find an, "autodog" machine!
I'm in the TV room now, just waiting for the HNL crew to arrive so I can meet up with them.
Thanks again to you all for the info.

Is it really that bad? Personally I think our cafeteria is ok; not gourmet-style like purple guys have in MEM but not bad... Prices seem to be about average or slightly below average from what I'd have paid anywhere else... Of course, they could improve things in many ways but is it really abysmal?
When I fly on other airlines I too go out pretty early to the airplane... Why push it by showing up 30 minutes prior? I thought his/her post was a pretty nice compliment to all brown pilots, why turn it negative?
L'lJ - gradually your posts have been turning more negative... I remember when you were this positive, upbeat guy/gal but now sometimes it feels like you lost that sprit... I guess the age 65 rule, displacements, downgrades, etc, etc... finally caught up with you, huh? Recently I've had some bad karma happen to me so maybe you're in the same boat?
Either way - it's too bad I preferred the "old" L'ilJ's posts... Just an observation, that's all...

Very well put.

It seems kind of arrogant to me for a capt to want to have his jumpseaters waiting at the bottom of the stairs given the environment of our ramps, the logisitcs of the vans, and the time of night we are there. FWIW. I guess it really doesn't matter what I think about it.

You really expect or want that? Our ramps are so loud and dangerous. What about when it rains? I just find it ridiculous to have off line pilots waiting on the ramp when there is a perfectly secure cockpit that gets them away from the noise, elements, and loaders.

Its a security issue.
