Why was the dept point Moses Lake? Interesting airport but a rather desolate area. ??

Learn how to land (touch and go's) the darn thing before they bring it home to roost. China Airlines does or use to do pattern work there.

Those mgt types are a little rusty. Better give 'em all the runway they can get.

>>>What about "emphasizing" what we are going to get paid to fly it?<<<

That's already been established...

I don't know why, but one speculation might be a Part 91 flight that departs Boeing or Everett VFR, joins a Lear or similar camera ship for those All-So-Important 3'x4' photographs that will appear all over the walls in about a week, and then picks up a clearance around Moses Lake for the rest of the trip. ???

JAL used to keep one or two 747s there for transition. I went there to fly one of the re-engined 727s when that program was underway. Got to fly a re-engined -100 and -200. Like adding a 4th engine.

Fortunately it was late spring and not winter. Would have been one tough assignment when it was an USAF base.. unless to use to old saying for most SAC bases, "..good place to hunt and fish."

Boeing uses it for touch and gos. Quiet area with a long runway.
