UPS'er Let-go

Really? Especially given the job market right now it's hard to imagine anyone allowing themselves to get canned. Even if it's an FAA violation or a scratched airplane there are safety valves like ASRS/ASAP and HIMS. A buddy of mine got a little time off for two UTC's but to get canned seems pretty hard around here.

I know the union has been dealing with this person for a while now, so it is not a shock. There are also other crew members that are in trouble with MIL leave and making up expense reports. Seems as though some guys are not using their heads out there.

You--"Honey, I just got fired and lost my multi-million $ retirement."
Them--"What for?"
You--"Tried to cheat on my expense report for a bogus $30 taxi fare."
Them--"&%#@*!"

Pardon the ignorance from outside looking in--what is a "UTC"? Thanks--and to echo previous related cargo threads/posts, don't jeopardize a dream job...it just ain't worth it!

Wow, that's pretty shocking!
Last time I heard someone was being let go I believe it had to do with a failed alco- or a drug test - not sure which. ...and that was a pretty senior captain, not an fo.
I agree with ToStayOrGo (PS. don't stay of you're senior to me
) - there might be much more to this story... Hope the union and the company will work together on this one...
