I haven't seen it either. But it looks like they were holding trips back. If I am not mistaken, that is a violation of the contract.

Makes one pause...

I went and looked at your pairing, lovely ORD with a Line Check.

When I was in Open Time, 9 other trips appeared, with LCA. Never have seen FDX differentiate trips that have Line Checks?

Anyway, here are the "new trips":

2 Oct: 199, 232, 630
3 Oct: 357, 837
4 Oct: 715
9 Oct: 712, 723
24 Oct: 714

Your ORD still is being held back...

Got assigned trip 145 ( ANC FO) that starts on 01OCT local. I got the notice on 29Sep.They even had to move a R day to make it work. This seems odd to me to be assigned so far out. This trip was not in open time that i can tell. Is this something that should be brought to unions attention?

The union should be getting a flurry of e-mails with details so they can investigate.

We are heading into the next arbitration hearing soon and I, for one, would like to see the guys in white hats walk in with all the ammo they can carry.

Trig

Is it for a line check? I have heard of people being generated at random for a line check ahead of time off Reserve. Called it quality of force or something like that. I had mistakenly thought it was enhanced supervision but it was not.

Well, if you would take the time to read the contract, you would see that 25K 1 states "The company may advance assign a reserve pilot a trip(s) from open time in accordance with 25 G 1 (Open Time Assignments), only for the following purposes:" Quoting 25 K 1 c "to cover an open time trip that is more than 50 hours TAFB, such assignment shall not be awarded more than 7 days in advance." In other words, it was legal since trip 145/02 appears to be well more than 50 hours TAFB and 29Sep is less than 1 week before 01Oct.

Gunter, what is your problem with CRS? I've talked with many of them, and even was neighbors with one for about a year while I lived in MEM. We're still friends, and guess what? They're not wrong very often, and when they are, they get reprimanded. I've showed him some of the stuff that comes up on APC, and it's laughable how wrong some of our assumptions are. Yeah, they make mistakes sometimes, who doesn't, but it's not like it's some sort of planned conspiracy. Based on your posts, it seems like you're pretty junior and don't really appreciate just how good you have it here. 4A2B or not, 777 pay rate or not, this is still the best and easiest job in the world. Try dealing with crew scheduling at your typical regional carrier or smaller freight operator (Kalitta or Amerijet, anyone?) Now those are screwed up scheduling situations.

Oh, by the way, section 25 G 1 of the contract (the one that no one on here seems read, or if they do, only read it selectively,) It says that open time may be used in the following order. Training assignments, phase-in, make-up.....etc. A line check is considered a training assignment by the company, and referring to trip 630/02Oct, it appears that a line check is being done on that pairing. That's why it has the "LCA" tag.

Kden,

Thanks for doing the research on this. Dont know how many contracts you have worked under, Ive had several over the years, but this ones pretty complex to me. Im only a pilot, not a lawyer...I really appreciate the help from others who understand this stuff...I owe you a beer

PS
Quoting 25 K 1 c "to cover an open time trip that is more than 50 hours TAFB

I didnt see this trip in open time..not sure if that means any thing
