5,,5,,$5 jumpseat.

Just gave a "fin" to a gate agent as I was running down the jetway to get my jumpseat. These folks are overworked and underpaid IMO,, I just wanted a way to say "thanks" for they're extra effort in processing my request for a free ride. Maybe I won't get the dreaded "don't have the time..or there is already one ahead of you..or,,sorry this flight is weight restricted.." response next time. I like my jumpseats....
what's ya'lls take.???

I'm all for treating gate agents really really well, but part of me says that I'm not too sure how this really would look should someone in management find out...
Gate agent: gives you a seat on a plane you didn't pay the airline for
You: give the gate agent money "under the table"
Just saying, it could look bad in the wrong situation. I'd stick to non-monetary gifts...

Offering money seems sort of tacky. Especially a small amount. As well, I'm not sure that others would understand your motives. Why not stop and bring them a Coke or a Orange juice and a muffin. That will tell them that you're thinking of them, without making them feel uneasy. Just my take.
