Why are we even talking about this? FauxHunter already told us, a month ago, that we'd be lucky to see 9 retirements!!
And, as far as working a full year for $80,000(over retirement pay)...That's not exactly true. Some of them use their 2.5 months of vacation and their 1 month of sick leave. So, they only work about 8 months.
Others, don't use their vacation, fly max carryover, etc., And, they're working a full year for $200,000 to $250,000 more than they'd make on retirement. And bonus, during this 4A2b robbery, they get to do all that at everyone else's expense.
Disclaimer: My examples assume that the said pilots are not only old...But, senior as well.

My favorite FH comment, and I paraphrase, was that he and many of his friends were driven to stay even longer by those who complain about over-60 pilots hanging around. Stay if you want to stay, but if you are putting off retirement simply to spite someone, you are both petty and a fool.

Like you say...Stay if you want to stay. Just stop trying to blow smoke up my arse about why.
