As a small silver lining and maybe overlooked benefit, the reduced schedules being built by FedEx has given our pilot group an unprecedented opportunity for time off during our normally busy peak season. Possibly the best way to decompress from the many stresses of this past year may just be a little R&R to help start 2010 refreshed.

This December, be sure to maximize your time with your families and friends during this holiday season and remember the things that are important to you. As the economy recovers, we may never again have such an opportunity for a little time at home during the holiday season.

Hoping for a happy holiday season and a Merry Christmas to each of you and your families!

Sincerely,

Your Fellow Pilot
Yeah, great letter if you are not one of the many who are being excessed and losing their homes. Maximize your time off sounds great unless you are an ANC guy losing his job to go back to the panel and not able to make a house payment. There is no silver lining to this. Merry Christmas if you can make it work, but let's not pretend this is some kind of blessing in disguise.
