Default FDX Dec bidpack

Anyone want to guess what BLG's for Dec will look like? Only two days and no communication from anyone about 4a2b.

Maybe a few more hours per line but no major changes is my bet. Plenty of independent contractors around to absorb any extra.

My prediction is "normal" BLG with more reserve lines. There's only so many Draft folks available any day and the RLG can go pretty quickly in December....how many Op Emergencies have we had over the past few years right around Christmas.

Just don't think Mgt wants to be on CNN high lighting the flight cancellations for lack of a warm body

from our CEO today

"We must keep adjusting our cost structure to the new post-recession realities of our revenue, volume and customer shipping patterns in order to be successful."

I read 4a2b continues

Parks, I read the apprehension in your post. I detest the stress and strain 4.A.2.b has put on our pilots and their families. Don't look for the end to come from a bid pack. It will come when the pay and benefit cuts taken by the other employee groups are reinstated. It is the only strategic way forward for a company on the verge of dramatic changes in labor law. Hang tough.

I think the company will be hard pressed to bring the pay cuts that management has experienced after the first of the year and not bring us out of 4A2b. But after listening to some of the posts on this forum, it won't matter to some of these guys. They're just greatful to Fred for giving them a job they obviously don't feel they deserved..... They're the same ones sucking up all the draft and vlt, thus allowing the company to keep us in 4A2b.

Dear Fellow Pilots,

With all the stresses of the past year, both in the national economy and here at our company, I would like to encourage each of you to take advantage of the additional time off presented to us under our overstaffed condition of 4a2b.

As a small silver lining and maybe overlooked benefit, the reduced schedules being built by FedEx has given our pilot group an unprecedented opportunity for time off during our normally busy peak season. Possibly the best way to decompress from the many stresses of this past year may just be a little R&R to help start 2010 refreshed.

This December, be sure to maximize your time with your families and friends during this holiday season and remember the things that are important to you. As the economy recovers, we may never again have such an opportunity for a little time at home during the holiday season.

Hoping for a happy holiday season and a Merry Christmas to each of you and your families!

Sincerely,

Your Fellow Pilot
