Default FDX - CAN Hotel standby

Operate into CAN. 2-day layover before starting 3 days of hotel stby, followed by another couple of days off, then operate out.

Why are these before and after layovers in an airport location? Seems like they should be like any other long layover, downtown. Once the A/P stby starts, obviously the airport hotel makes sense.

I'm not looking forward to a week in the CAN airport and just wondered if anyone else had pressed to test on this.

I did time at Pullman in CAN. Good chow, pickup basketball game in the yard around noon. "Shot a man in Guangzhou just to watch him die, now I am stuck in Pullman prison and all I do is cry."'

Maybe to save ground transpo money. Look into a hotel change.

I tried to pull up the hotel directory layover guide but bad link on fpc.

The Pullman is about 130 hoonyackers less but the length of layover should determine which hotel is used for multi-hotel layovers. I'd look into it.

Get a cell phone from the front desk at the Pullman, atleast you can walk around the airport. There is some chow in there...

Just did the same, two days off there plus three standby, all at the Pullman. For about $40 you can do a taxi round trip to downtown. Excitement O plenty! It kills time, anyway!

I don't think that is an option dude. Good luck on that one.

Ah, welcome to the Betty Ford Clinic, Far East Division. Have some tea with those hoonyackers.

I'm about to do my third stretch at the Pullman. The first one I bid just to scope it out. It sucked. The second one I got on reserve, it sucked more. This one I got on VTO due to the latest seniority adjustment in ANC, it will suck as well. We've tried to get off campus for the STBY periods but flt mgmt, (i.e. a bunch of guys who have never left MEM) want us there. If you do have to serve time keep an eye out for bedbugs AND rats at the buffet. Those are the only two instances that I know of where the CAN STBY crew got to go to the Shifu for the STBY. I write this in the hotel after changing clothes in another airport bathroom on an Asia SDDH. Keep it classy FedEx.

Are the bedbugs a topping for the sautéed rat? Or are these free range/organic varmints?

Yuck. He was asking about the long layovers in CAN before and after the STBYs. The Shifu is a long haul from the a/p so the STBYs need to be nearby, but the other layovers could/should be at the Shifu.
