UPS Furlough
#772
Rocco,
I was under the impression that once planning is done with next bid periods schedule we would get our dates (supposedly today Aug 04). You are probably closer to the knowing what numbers are coming out of the school house. I think that the training of our replacements is the only hold up.
Welcome to the last job you'll ever have!
Feel the love...

Frontseat,
I feel for you, I really do. I've never been furloughed but I understand your frustration and I don't think the animosity toward the union is necessary. I am confident they are doing everything they can to keep you employed and/or coming back ASAP. Who do you think worked on the MOU for you? They cannot perform miracles for Pete's sake. It's UPS that is furlouging you and with all the other shenanigans they are pulling, *** would make you think that the union could do anything about you keeping your job. They are confronting an all out assault by the 800 lb gorilla. Give them some credit. Are you dealing with UPS every day? I don't know how the people on the union do it. I would have probably gone postal by now dealing with them and their crazy "interpretations" and distortions of the contract.

No animosity,
It is what it is.....I just hate when pilots say or write stuff that eludes to the fact that the union has their back 100% of time time...there is a bigger picture and those elected in the past have sold out lower seniority crew members in many many many many many many companies.......

That's not the point. The point is who came up with it and worked hard for everyone to keep your jobs? Maybe we should have an option where we don't have to belong to the union and you guys can just opt out.....we'll see how far you get with UPS without union representation. Don't crap on the only people looking out for you at this place.

You do know we already have that option, don't you. I'll give you a clue, this option allows you to be based in SDF and fly the 400. It also allows you to keep your job in these economic conditions, so far.
Invitations for this option come around once a year ...
