Invitations for this option come around once a year ...

Yeah, but you have to sell your soul for that option.

UPS played us,the IPA still had to try. A nasty lesson in who we work for for the most recent to join our organization.

Don't interpret the MOU as weakness- the IPA leadership thought they were "working" with UPS to mitigate the need for furloughes. It was a great effort. We all feel burned, and it will not ever happen again at this company. We've all seen what kind of company we're dealing with. This furlough may have cost UPS much more than the goodwill of it's pilots. Politically this is starting hurt also. How's that whole Fedex status change going?

Just found out I will be left out of the next Bid Pack. My original furlough was August, but received a call telling me it was postponed for a month or so.

My question is, has anyone gotten "official notification"?

Thanks!

I am in the Sept. group and have not heard a thing, you just found out you will be in Sept ? Was it manpower planning that told you, or how did you find out ?

I was originally in the August group. Received a call from M.M. (ANC ACP) telling me that I would be around till sometime later. He did not give me a date. Said to expect September. There were 8 people in the August furlough that moved to September. I guess everything will move forward as forecast.

Not heard anything. I guess when the bid packs come out Monday for Bid Period 10-05 we will find out.

A crappy way to find out you are unemployed. This place just keeps surprising me. Not in a good way either.

It is a crappy way to find out...Are the ACP's making calls around a month before the "furlough" date ? If that is the case we should be getting a call any time now.....or...you are right, look at the bid pack and see if we are in it...classy.....

I really don't know how they face their wives and children....talk about living a lie
These "young guns" will now have to look over their shoulder for everything they do. There is some pretty damning documents out there regarding some of these chaps. Almost every IPA guy hates these A$$ ki$$ers. They are a small part of the problem at the moment. Guess we have to start working on the weak ones first.

I have some proof that during my IOE on the 400, the guy doing my check ride paid for our diner with his company credit card. Funny thing is we put cash on the table to pay for our own meals. He did not offer to pay for it. He simply put the cash in his pocket and the American Express card got a little work out.

A friend of mine that works in the ANC training center said he keeps a file of all the "pencil whipped" stuff that he sees. Some pretty interesting stuff apparently. Never know where that stuff will end up.....

Also a couple of our "respected" management types have some good times on these Asian layovers. Do you realize how good cell phone cameras are these days?

Yes. This is one classy place to work!

Don't you just wish you could be like "Well, actually I will be leaving in August because that's what my original notification was." It's a shame that they keep you around because they need you but if it's the other way around too bad.
