Crew Bus Rumors are the best:

100 to the 757 (couldn't ascertain if 50/50 or 100/100)
50 Crews to 777

MD-11 HKG Bid Soon
757 European Bid too!

I suspect we will see a domestic bid, but a foreign domicile too?

Someone in the know:

1. 777 from Air France - when will FDX receive/operate?
2. 757 - how many currently on property? How many more to arrive this year?

Lindy,
I do know the answer to the first question. The two Air France birds will be in service in June of this year. The first one was the first 777F built and the second one was built around the time that our second one was built, line numbers 718 and 827. That's all I got.

Probably two different bids, since a foreign domicile bid has to remain open a lot longer (45 days?) and they can't wait that long to refresh the 757 training letter.

Foreign domicile bid? For where, CDG?

Unless they are planning for CDG, or just opening a different FDA under Sec 6. of the CBA...They will need a new LOA.

That would be funny if the company opened a Section 6 domicile in Prague. I think they like the flexibility the SIBA gives them in Europe. Does not works as well for SIBA in HKG.

Here is my rumor they will open a 777 domicile in CDG to fly those CDG-CAN routes. I heard it from the guy who runs my dry cleaner.

Any other excesses? 727? ANC? LAX?

727 fleet continues to shrink and BLGs are already low. I would also be interesting to see how a HKG MD base would affect ANC and LAX. Anybody?

Anybody else hear a rumor about our flag carrier application being denied? I wonder how that will affect 777 manning and any associated upcoming bid?

I believe the FAA had some issues with the planned training for flag ops. FDX had apparently planned to do a 20 page CBT with a few questions. The FAA said..."Hell No. You need some ground school training and such."

That's the word on the street. The training departments are scrambling to get it done "today, if not sooner." We'll see.
