I have one scheduled on an ANC-HKG leg in July. Not exactly a milk run either. Although I think that all flights need to be observed, disputed pairings all the way down to whatever skeebo2 considers to be a milk run.

Then why are these guys flying day Charlotte turns? Then the'll pick a good layover (for them) say a fun spot and stay there for 36 hrs paid. This gives them time to do the "paper work". What a joke.

OK sour grapes on my part for not being a volunteer. But i still have problems with the word volunteer and $$$ compensation.

Anyone remember the NASA study or the ENDERS good deals. Fooled me twice. Good deal for who??
Well, Well. Don't know what put the burr under your saddle for this and your subsequent posts Skeeboo, were you turned down as a volunteer? It is one thing to have an opinion on the program. It is entirely another thing to present that opinion with bogus or mis-leading "facts" about the program. All the volunteers started by going to MEM for 5 days of training on days off....hmm, sounds like volunteerism to me. They then are scheduled, yes scheduled, by a dedicated LOSA scheduler for their 1st training ride. They are all out and backs (what you call milk runs) specifically so that they can produce their 1st "write up" ( which involves no less than 4.5 hours after each ride to create and submit). They then return to MEM for a de-brief with the program instructors. After that (if they pass muster) they are released to the line for scheduling. They then are scheduled for rides throughout our system. Yes, they submit preference sheets every month, but all areas of operations are covered including the SIN-PEN-NRT and all such onerous sequences. They do get paid for their line work, which I have no problem with. This is our first step toward a robust and mature safety system and culture here at FedEx which hopefully will dovetail with the FOQA and ASAP in the future. By the way, if you were'nt turned down, why not volunteer yourself.........much more productive than sitting on the sidelines throwing rocks..........and no, I am not a LOSA observer. Cheers
