And maybe your kid can get a job in a chinese battery factory.

And your post seem to imply that the new hires are begging for an increase, if we had some they probably wouldn't. What I am suggesting is pay 1st year guys more so they have a better lifestyle the first 5 years they are at FDX and maybe feel less need to fly extra. You know "raise the bar".

Good One! Sadly, most American children haven't the first clue what work or sacrifice is about... all they care about is their iPods, cell phones, and facebook.

Lag,

Maybe these people in the military with families should stay in the military or take a job that pays more for their first year. Compare our pay with the other airlines.

Don't we have something else to whine about? Maybe we can start new hires at 200/ hour. Have you ever worked anywhere else?

And, I was military with family and survived my first year. I did OK...

I am not whining nor am I spun up. I survived great too. I learned flying extra is the way to make it at Fedex. Will not say raise the bar again since no one can counter the argument.

Will be glad to whine about something else; what would you and DL like to whine about? This topic was dead till you brought it back to life.

It wouldn't matter if 1st year pay was $250/hr...If people have an opportunity to pad their paycheck, they will. Enough, is never enough for many. "Greed is good". It's the American way, especially since the 1980's.

when do you guys suspect they will start interviews. The application website has been down for mx for the past two weeks so I can't even update my stuff. Had the Meet & Greet right before they stop hiring. Late 2006. Eagerly been waiting for a chance.

I say early spring. Wouldn't be surprised if meet and greets are required again.

When they do start to hire, will new hires be able to stay in the states? Or go to HKG?
