But if you don't, how do you base it?

I like the sound of 95 CH per month at the 15-year widebody Capt rate for everyone.

OR... what if we were to determine how many CH had been paid total (Regular trips, Volunteer, Draft, all the Makeup varieties, etc.), divide THAT number up equally to get the monthly CH figure.

We could base the CH increment on the highest seat position held for each month since the amendable date. Or we could base it on the highest seat held since the amendable date.

Whatever the formula, I think it should NOT reward those that have been working extra, for whatever reason.

I think the total value of the retro should represent what we WOULD have had were the Contract amended on the amendable date, and then a little bit more to account for the time value of money we should have had then. It should be large enough that it does NOT represent a reward to The Company for stalling.

Furthermore, I'd like to see a clause in this contract that will trigger an immediate pay raise on the amendable date, with additional incremental pay raises automatically triggered if the Company stalls negotiations again next time. OK, I'm dreaming.

whatever they decide to do I think it will be given to the Assoc and let them figure it out. IE, they figure the total compensation for the last 2+ years and multiply by X% to come up with a total "bonus". Then they give that amount to the Union and say "here, divvy it up how you want. Then the Union is in a sh1t sandwich no matter which way they go. If they go on total compensation you earned the last 2 years, it pi$$es off the guys who held fast the last 6 months or so. If you go by seat position and year, you got the others yapping at your a$$. Good luck

It will really pi$$ off us guys who got delayed 6 months because purple nuggets went to anc. Don't want to get worked up yet based on speculation.

If the retro is paid out like the Unions last proposal it will be fairly simple:

X Credit Hours (same for everyone, it was 1404 in Annapolis in Oct05) times the retro % of the highest pay rate you were at since the amendable date.

1900 X (130hr x .07) = $17,290 *EXAMPLE*

We should get some kind of interest or penalty on top of that but at least a formula like this will be fair as it can be and not reward the air hogs. It will not be fair to the guys held back in training but it will not be like UPS's deal which purposely buys votes from the top and bottom of the seniority list.

I hope the retro is 9% or higher and I think the CH figure should be at least 2500 hours. We will see soon hopefully ! STAY THE COURSE.....

I'v heard the figure of 934 CH per year x highest seat rate, so if the CBA became effective 1 dec, that's 2.5 x 934 x 0.07 (7% retro) x highest pay rate. Standard CH figure per year leaves all that DRF and VLT flying out of the picture.

Sounds fair. That would protect the guys who got delayed since they are getting passover, right?
