Default FDX Global War on Error

Just downloaded the bidpack and I am scheduled to have one day of training in Sept. for the GWOE. I thought they were combining it with one of your other training events? For commuters you lose two days for travel for one day of training pay! Not very commuter friendly.

Check your company E Mail for a 20 july message. Bottomline you had recurrent in Apr and will take GWE 2 in Oct. so you need GWE1 in Sep.

Here is the punch line:

September Bid Month

Any crewmember, including HKG based crewmembers, on this email who is not scheduled to attend the GWOE/BT class within the 21JUL10-27AUG10 date range by 03AUG10 will be placed in the September bid pack and will be required to bid for a class through the normal recurrent training bidding process. No more calls for the volunteer period will be accepted after 1700L CDT on 03AUG10.

How do you figure? I did the GWOE today. Left the house at 0815 and was home by 1345.

4 hours of class room stuff and got paid 4.5 hours (5.5 hours away from home). What's not to love.

There is a price to pay if you don't want to live in base. Ah, the land of milk and honey.

The class is scheduled until 500pm. If it finishes at at 1345 then I can catch the afternoon JS home and save a day of all night on the jumpseat.

I'm sure you can. He skips lunch and is out by 1ish. Today he called it over at 1303.

He's been consistently out by 1pm.

He's very accomodating to the commuter.

(Sarcasm light off)

Unfortunately, not --- the 12 hrs will still apply from the 5pm class ending time in VIPS.

Now on the front end, the nice lady who was manually scheduling these classes in Jul was able to let you hub turn "into" the GWOE class.

She'd put you in the class of your choice, VIPS would knock out the trip the day prior to class and then she'd immediately put you right back on that trip.

Seems they didn't care if you had the normal 12 hrs off prior to training if you were only taking the GWOE class without your normal 2 days of sim training.

I don't believe that works on the back end though.

YMMV.
